Yes, the Gold Exchange Mailer, or GEM Packet is completely free of charge, and it is postage paid.
How Do I Use It?
The GEM Packet is a safe mailer that is designed for you to send your unwanted gold, silver, and platinum to us. Place your items in the GEM Packet, and mail it at your earliest convenience.
How long will it take to get my check?
Our goal is for you to have your check within ten days of when we receive your GEM Packet. Our jewelers will appraise your gold the day it arrives in our headquarters. We will post our payout online in the Xchange Center, where you can either accept or decline. If you decide to decline, we will mail you back your gold free of charge.
Can I accept or deny a payment before you print a check?
Yes, that's exactly what the Xchange Center is designed for. As soon as the value of your gold is determined, we will send you an e-mail to the address you specified when you signed up. You can then login to the Xchange Center, and accept or decline within 48 hours. This process is unique to Reeds Jewelers, and will speed up the process considerably.
How long do I have to decide if I accept or decline your payout?
You will have 48 hours from the time we post our offer online in the Xchange Center. As soon as we post our payout, you will receive an e-mail notifying you to to login to the Xchange Center. If you don't accept or decline within 48 hours, we will mail your check. We will then wait 5 business days before we recycle your gold.
Why do I have 48 hours to accept or decline?
The value of gold may change daily, and we want to make sure you are getting what you deserve. If you do not respond after 48 hours, we will assume you accept and mail your check. We will wait 5 business days before we recycle your gold.
What If I don't check my e-mail often?
You should try to keep in mind to check your e-mail often the next few days after you mail us your GEM Packet. However, we would be happy to contact you via telephone if you would prefer. If this is the case, please enter your phone number, and leave the e-mail field blank when filling out the form to request a GEM Packet.
What If I'm not happy with your offer?
If you are unsatisfied, you can decline our offer in the Xchange Center within 48 hours. No questions asked, we will immediately mail you back your items.
What About Insurance?
The GEM Packet is insured for $100. If you would like to insure it for more, please make arrangements with your local post office.
How do I know if you received my gold?
With every step we make in the gold exchange process, you will be notified. We will send you e-mail notification when we receive your GEM Packet and when we determine the value of your gold. You can also log in to the Xchange Center at any time to check to see if there are any status updates.

What If I'm still not sure I am ready to mail my gold?

Do you buy diamonds as well?
We will take into consideration the quality of diamonds in your jewelry, and offer what we can for them. However we do not guarantee that we can offer you anything for the gemstones in your jewelry.
What if some of the items I send you turn out to not be made of gold, silver or platinum?
We will mail you your items back, we cannot purchase these from you.
Do you accept coins?
We accept gold coins, and pure silver coins. Many silver
coins are sandwiched silver, and a non precious metal, those we can't accept.
